Clay Research Conference 2010 • Paris
The topic of the 2010 Clay Research Conference was Grigoriy Perelman's proof of the Poincaré conjecture and Thurston's Geometrization conjecture. Perelman's proof, which appeared in a series of three preprints posted on ArXiv.org in 2002 and 2003, is based on Riemannian geometry and Hamilton's theory of Ricci flow. For that work he has been awarded the first Clay Millennium Prize. Please see the March 18 announcement.
The 2010 Clay Research Conference was held in association with the Institut Henri Poincaré.
The evening of June 7 there was a public lecture by Etienne Ghys. Lectures on the first day were held at the Institut Océanographique, 195, rue Saint-Jacques. On the second day, they were held at the Institut Henri Poincaré, 11 rue Pierre et Marie Curie.
