Terence Tao

Terence Tao (b. 1975), a native of Adelaide, Australia, graduated from Flinders University at the age of 16 with a BSc in Mathematics. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in June 1996 under the direction of Elias Stein and then took a teaching position at UCLA where he was assistant professor until 2000 when he was appointed full professor. He began a 3-year appointment as a CMI Long Term Prize Fellow in March 2001.
