To increase public awareness of mathematics, CMI exhibited five posters in the Boston T stations and trains during the month of November, 2004.
Poster design by Laura McFadden for the Clay Mathematics Institute. Exhibited in Red Line T stations located between Cambridge and Boston. Click here for more information on what the poster is about, the secret message it contains, and the reward for deciphering it.
The Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Cambridge, England developed and first published these posters in the London Underground as part of a series for World Mathematical Year 2000. The Clay Mathematics Institute subsequently selected these four posters from a suite of twelve to reproduce as 21 x 22 inch car cards to go inside "Red Line" trains.
