CMI Workshops

CMI intends to conduct a program of small workshops, generally ten to twenty people, at the Mathematical Institute in Oxford, UK. The aim is to bring a small set of researchers together quickly, outside the usual grant and application cycle, when this is likely to result in significant progress. An application submitted three months before the workshop is sufficient. Typically, full funding for 10-20 people is available for each workshop, but others may be invited.

The format of an application is not fixed. It should be brief. The proposal should set out the reasons for holding the workshop at this time and the intended goals, typically in a single page. A list of intended funded participants and reserves should be included.

CMI will provide logistical support, will book accommodation, and issue formal invitations to participants. Available funding will cover the cost of travel, accommodation, and meals for invited participants, as well as other costs, such as a workshop dinner.
